All right, since I feel really
lousy about having absolutely nothing of any interest whatsoever on my
pathetic home page, I've decided to put a couple of very old outdated songs
of mine up (enjoy the laugh!). I'd record new stuff, but as you may
know my music gear is all boxed up and sitting in a warehouse a continent
away from where I'm living. So for now, a blast from chuckies' distant
lo-fi past.
This short brainfart was
performed by Chris Deschenes and myself, probably around early 1988.
The equipment we used was Chris' Yamaha DX27S, my Roland Juno-106, my Roland
TR-909, my sister's (!) Korg MS-20, a cheesy $2 Sanyo microphone, and my
Dad's Sony tuner and 2 tape decks. This was the fourth take. There
are no overdubs. These were the days before income... The days
of using spiderwebs of Y-connectors to get everything into your old man's
2-track stereo with no mixer. What a nightmare. We loved every
minute of it. Nivek and cEvin, eat your hearts out. Heh, heh.
Chris: keyboard, tape work, programming. Me: vocals, programming.
This one is by Richard Leveille
and myself, known (or not known) at the time as Replication 34. (I'd
read somewhere that brain cells divided 33 times from conception to birth.)
It was our entry for our sound project in college, performed on December
2, 1990. Equipment: Atari ST 1040fm computer (sequencing), Yamaha
SY-22 synth (rented), Korg A-3 effects (rented), Roland Juno-106 (synth
bass!), Boss DR-550 drum machine (borrowed), Boss DD-3 Digital Delay pedal
(borrowed), Rich's Epiphone guitar, some school-borrowed microphone, a
dying school-borrowed mixing board, and two cheap 2-track tape decks.
This was the second take, with no overdubs. Rich: guitar. Me:
vocals, delay effects, programming.
